This is the main site for the Central Virginia Region of the North-South Skirmish Association.

The Central Virginia Region is one of thirteen regions that comprises the North-South Skirmish Association. The N-SSA is dedicated to preserving the history of the American Civil War by shooting original and direct reproduction firearms and artillery of the period. Firing is done at local skirmishes, which have competitive live firing of muskets, carbines, revolvers, breechloading rifles, smoothbores and artillery. Skirmishes, in our case, would be defined as the live firing of period firearms in competition...

    Update 4-28-08

I would like to get a "Then" and "Now" page done for each team in the region. If you have information about your unit, or some type of a unit history, please send it along. I would also like to publish a "Now" page, with the interests, personalities, and contact information in regards to your team. This is not something that I am going to charge anyone for, but I do think it's important to have. The Cockade Rifles and the 1st Florida Cavalry pages are two examples of this. Nothing too extraordinary, but some information. I can't do this alone, so please help me out.

I am also in need of some photos from a couple of teams yet. I don't like not having any photos of the teams, so if you see me lurking with a camera behind your position at Nationals, don't say that you haven't been warned!

I also updated the "Interesting Links" page. Let me know if there's a site that you would like listed or removed. Thanks again, and hope to see you all at the Nationals!

    Notices

Please let me know what you would like changed on the site. I have been attempting to streamline the site since the new design change. I have had a few problems with internet browsers rendering the pages differently. I built the site using Mozilla Firefox; as I prefer it over Internet Explorer. My apologies for anything that doesn't look quite right in IE.

If you have pictures of your team that you would like posted, please send email them to me; I would like to see every team represented. I would also like to see every team have a "Then" and "Now" page. If you have the information, I will design the page, drop me a line, and we'll get it posted.

I also just wanted to say "Thanks" to the CV Region for being patient with me, and for all the tips and advice that you have given me along the way. See you at the Nationals!

Although most pages are complete, this is still a work in progress. Feel free to email any questions, comments, or concerns to the Webmistress or Regional Commander Craig Stanley.
